Lightweight Asia 2026 came to a successful conclusion at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) on July 10, 2026, showcasing cutting-edge innovations across the entire lightweighting industry chain and providing an efficient networking bridge between international professionals.

Held concurrently with Aluminium China, Copper China, Magnesium China and Shanghai International Metal Recycling Expo, the show integrated Aluminium, Magnesium, Copper, recycled metal and other core industry resources, building a high-end matchmaking platform featuring multi-material synergy, cross-sector technological exchange and full-chain resource integration.

The three-day event attracted 36,134 visitors in total, including 4,011 visitors from overseas, setting a record for attendance. The show also facilitated 864 domestic on-site matchmaking meetings and over 200 international business negotiation sessions, further strengthening business connections and cooperation between international suppliers and buyers.

Upgraded Lineup of Globally Renowned Exhibitors

This edition boasts a roster of more than 680 brands from home and abroad, upgrading the lineup in terms of expo scale, exhibitor quality as well as exhibit spectrum.

For the aluminium sector, China’s top-tier companies including ALUMINUM CORPORATION OF CHINA, CHINA HONGQIAO GROUP LIMITED, SHANDONG HUAJIAN ALUMINIUM GROUP CO., LTD and HENAN MINGTAI AL. INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD gathered to exhibit their aluminium products applicable to new energy vehicles (NEVs) such as battery aluminum foil, extruded profiles for car body, lightweight structural parts for chassis, and integrated die-casting aluminum alloy, among others.

For the magnesium sector, BAOWU MAGNESIUM TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., SHANXI YINGUANG HUASHENG MAGNESIUM CO., LTD., SHANXI BADA MAGNESIUM CO., LTD., and other leading companies showcased cutting-edge lightweight products including ultra-high-strength die-casting magnesium alloys, lightweight electric drive housings and magnesium alloy interior and exterior trim components. 

Meanwhile, outstanding domestic and overseas exhibitors from metal processing and precision forging sectors such as HENAN ZHONGFU INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD., CHONGQING SHUNBO ALUMINUMCO., LTD., ALUMEX PLC and HAVEL also joined to present advanced technologies and engage with industry professionals.

High-level Industry Forums on Cutting-edge Innovations

Two specialized forums were held during the show, focusing on the core areas of NEVs and robotics, providing a high-level platform for technological exchange.

The 7th Automotive Lightweight Process Technology and Innovative Materials Application Forum on July 9 covered the development needs of new energy vehicles regarding lightweighting, low-carbon development and mass production. PUFEIT ELECTROMAGNETIC TECHNOLOGY (TAIZHOU) CO., LTD., SHANGHAI REALMAN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD (SHRET) and several specialized companies shared their insights on heat treatment technology, precision forming processes, specialized forming equipment and other related fields.

The 2nd Future Innovation Forum for the Nonferrous Metals Industry – Robotics Session held on July 9 centered on hot topics including intelligent upgrading of non-ferrous metal plants, commercial deployment of industrial robots and vision and motion control technologies. Speakers from TI5ROBOT TECHNOLOGY SHANGHAI CO., LTD., Shanghai Jiao Tong University, GUANGZHOU SPARK ROBOTICS CO., LTD. and other institutions addressed latest technological development and application scenarios, presenting new perspectives on the collaborative innovation of non-ferrous metals and intelligent robots.

The on-site business matchmaking event was held in Halls N2 and N3, during which one-on-one business negotiations were conducted between leading suppliers and overseas buyers, facilitating efficient supply - demand connections and accelerating the implementation of business cooperation.
